Head Bartender

Job Description

We are seeking a confident and experienced Head Bartender to oversee daily bar operations, maintain outstanding beverage quality, and create an inviting atmosphere for every guest. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a fast-paced bar where creativity, leadership, and excellent service are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and motivate the bar team to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
• Prepare and serve a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to a consistently high standard.
• Develop and update cocktail menus, including seasonal and signature drinks.
• Train, mentor, and support bartenders and bar staff on service standards and drink preparation.
• Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and maintain accurate stock records.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of beverages and bar supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and presentation of the bar area at all times.
• Verify legal drinking age requirements and promote responsible alcohol service.
• Manage opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation where required.
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
• Work closely with management to achieve sales targets and improve bar performance.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Head Bartender, Senior Bartender, or in a similar leadership role within a bar or beverage-focused venue.
• Proven knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and beverage trends.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Experience with inventory management, stock control, and ordering processes.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Professional bartending certification or relevant beverage training is an advantage.
• Knowledge of responsible alcohol service regulations is preferred.
• A positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
