Café Operations Supervisor

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily operations of the café to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Lead, motivate, and support café team members during each shift.
• Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and service standards.
• Coordinate staff schedules and allocate duties effectively.
• Ensure cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation standards are consistently maintained.
• Manage inventory, monitor stock levels, and assist with ordering supplies.
• Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
• Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching to improve performance.
• Assist with cash handling, daily sales reconciliation, and operational reporting.
• Work closely with management to achieve sales targets and operational goals.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supervising operations in a café, coffee shop, restaurant, or similar food service environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high service standards.
• Experience with inventory management and stock control.
• Good organisational and problem solving skills.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with point of sale systems.
