Job Description

A coffee shop known for its craft approach to espresso and customer experience is looking for a skilled Head Barista to lead daily beverage operations and guide a small, passionate team.

This role sits at the center of the café’s identity, shaping how every cup is prepared and how guests experience service from the first greeting to the final sip. You’ll oversee coffee quality, maintain consistency across shifts, and help refine brewing standards that keep the menu exceptional.

Responsibilities

• Supervise barista team members and coordinate smooth daily service
• Ensure all espresso and specialty drinks meet quality and presentation standards
• Manage coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other beverage inventory
• Maintain and calibrate espresso machines and brewing equipment
• Train new baristas on techniques, recipes, and customer engagement
• Monitor hygiene, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety standards
• Support menu development and seasonal drink innovation
• Handle customer feedback and resolve service-related concerns promptly

Qualifications

• Previous experience in specialty coffee preparation, including leadership or senior barista duties
• Strong understanding of espresso extraction, milk texturing, and brewing methods
• Ability to train, motivate, and guide a small team in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
• Knowledge of coffee equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting
• Passion for coffee culture and continuous improvement in beverage quality
