Director of Purchasing

Job Description

A leading hotel is seeking a strategic and highly experienced Director of Purchasing to oversee all procurement operations and ensure the seamless supply of quality goods and services across the property. This role is key to maintaining cost efficiency, vendor excellence, and consistent operational standards that support a premium guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with hotel goals and budget targets
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors
• Maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with departments to forecast procurement needs
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, standards, and internal controls
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
• Lead procurement audits and maintain accurate purchasing records and reports
• Collaborate closely with finance, kitchen, housekeeping, and operations teams
• Manage procurement team performance and provide leadership and training

Qualifications

• Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or purchasing, preferably in hospitality
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Excellent understanding of inventory control and cost management systems
• Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• High level of organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency with procurement or inventory software is an advantage
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple supplier relationships
