Prep Cook

Job Description

A busy and welcoming restaurant kitchen is looking for a reliable Prep Cook to support daily food preparation and help keep the kitchen running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes, is organized, and takes pride in clean, consistent food prep.

Responsibilities

• Wash, peel, chop, and portion ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards
• Assist chefs with basic cooking tasks when needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas and equipment
• Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines at all times
• Store ingredients properly and label items clearly
• Support inventory checks and report low stock items
• Ensure ingredients are prepped in a timely manner to keep service running efficiently

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in preparation
• Good time management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Physically able to stand for long periods and handle kitchen tasks
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff
