Store Assistant

Job Description

An organized and dependable Store Assistant is needed to support the daily inventory and stock operations of our café. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to ensure ingredients, beverages, supplies, and equipment are accurately received, stored, and distributed. If you have a keen eye for detail and enjoy maintaining order in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and record deliveries of food, beverages, and café supplies.
• Organize and maintain the storeroom in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock items promptly.
• Assist with stock rotation using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method.
• Issue supplies to café departments as required and maintain accurate records.
• Conduct regular stock counts and assist with inventory reconciliation.
• Ensure proper storage of perishable and non-perishable items.
• Check deliveries against purchase orders and report discrepancies.
• Support waste reduction by monitoring product expiry dates.
• Maintain inventory documentation using manual or digital systems.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards.
• Assist with other store and operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Certificate, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality, or a related field is an advantage.
• Previous experience in a store, inventory, warehouse, retail, café, restaurant, or hospitality environment is preferred.
• Basic understanding of inventory management and stock control procedures.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or inventory management software is an added advantage.
• Strong numerical and record-keeping skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to lift and move stock safely when required.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• High level of accuracy, honesty, and attention to detail.
