Shift Leader

Job Description

We are a lively bar committed to creating memorable evenings through excellent service, quality drinks, and a well-coordinated team. We are looking for a confident Shift Leader to take charge during assigned shifts, support staff performance, maintain service standards, and ensure guests receive a consistently enjoyable experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate bar staff throughout assigned shifts.
• Allocate duties and ensure smooth workflow across the bar.
• Monitor customer service and respond promptly to guest concerns.
• Support bartenders and service staff during busy periods.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and workplace safety.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash and equipment checks.
• Ensure bar policies, responsible service practices, and operational procedures are followed.
• Train and guide team members to improve service performance.
• Communicate shift updates, operational issues, and relevant feedback to management.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a supervisory or senior role within a bar, restaurant, or similar service environment.
• Strong knowledge of bar operations, customer service, and beverage service.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to remain organised and composed during busy shifts.
• Good cash-handling and basic inventory management skills.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and service standards.
• A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is an advantage.
