Job Description

A leading hotel is seeking a vigilant and detail-oriented Safety & Compliance Officer to help maintain a secure, compliant, and well-managed environment for guests, employees, and visitors. The successful candidate will monitor safety standards, identify potential risks, support regulatory compliance, and promote a strong culture of safety across hotel operations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor hotel facilities and operations to identify safety hazards and compliance risks.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
  • Develop, review, and implement workplace safety procedures and compliance guidelines.
  • Ensure employees understand and follow relevant health, safety, fire, and emergency procedures.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and reported safety concerns and prepare detailed reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, training, permits, and compliance activities.
  • Coordinate emergency drills and support effective emergency preparedness.
  • Liaise with management and relevant departments to resolve identified safety issues.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Organise safety awareness sessions and training for hotel employees.
  • Follow up on corrective actions to ensure identified risks are properly addressed.
  • Support internal and external compliance audits when required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Risk Management, Compliance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in health and safety or compliance is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in hotel operations, facilities, safety, compliance, or a related environment.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace safety procedures, risk assessment, and emergency management.
  • Good understanding of fire prevention, incident reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent observation, investigation, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and professional judgement.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with hotel departments.
  • Proficiency in standard office and reporting software.
