Restaurant Supervisor

Job Description

Our restaurant is looking for a confident and organised Restaurant Supervisor to help lead daily service and ensure every guest receives attentive, efficient, and professional care. The successful candidate will support the restaurant manager, guide the service team, maintain high operating standards, and help create a smooth experience from opening through closing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise front-of-house operations and coordinate daily restaurant service.
• Lead, motivate, and support servers and other service staff during shifts.
• Assign duties and coordinate staff schedules to maintain efficient coverage.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and respond professionally to questions or concerns.
• Ensure tables, service areas, and dining spaces remain clean and properly presented.
• Monitor service quality, order accuracy, and staff performance.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and daily reports.
• Coordinate effectively with kitchen staff to maintain smooth food and beverage service.
• Train new employees on restaurant procedures, service standards, and workplace expectations.
• Ensure health, safety, food handling, and operational procedures are followed.
• Support inventory checks and communicate supply requirements to management.
• Handle unexpected service issues calmly and make practical decisions when required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in restaurant supervision, shift leadership, or a similar food service role.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant service procedures and customer service standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisational and time-management abilities.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Basic knowledge of cash handling, stock control, and daily restaurant reporting.
• Proficiency with common point-of-sale and workplace systems is an advantage.
• A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Food Service Management, or a related field is preferred.
