Pizza Chef

Our cafe is looking for a talented and dependable Pizza Chef to join the kitchen team. We serve freshly prepared pizzas alongside a varied cafe menu, with a strong focus on quality, consistency, presentation, and excellent customer service. The successful Pizza Chef will bring strong kitchen skills, creativity, and attention to detail while maintaining an efficient and organised working environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook pizzas according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Prepare dough, sauces, toppings, and other pizza ingredients efficiently.
• Monitor oven temperatures and cooking times to achieve consistent results.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Keep the pizza station clean, organised, and fully stocked throughout service.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Check ingredient quality and report shortages or quality concerns promptly.
• Work closely with other kitchen team members to ensure smooth service.
• Assist with menu preparation and contribute ideas for new pizza offerings.
• Manage multiple orders during busy periods while maintaining accuracy and speed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Pizza Chef, Pizzaiolo, or in a similar kitchen role.
• Good knowledge of pizza preparation, dough handling, and baking techniques.
• Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy cafe environment.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a kitchen team.
• Culinary training or a recognised food preparation qualification is an advantage.
• Previous experience working in a cafe, restaurant, or similar food service setting is preferred.
