Laundry Attendant

Job Description

A well-established hotel is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to support the daily operations of the laundry department. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, garment care, and linen presentation while contributing to a seamless guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate washing machines, dryers, presses, and other laundry equipment safely
• Sort linens, towels, uniforms, and guest garments according to fabric type and washing requirements
• Wash, dry, iron, fold, and prepare laundry for distribution
• Inspect items for stains, damage, or wear before and after processing
• Apply appropriate stain removal techniques when required
• Ensure guest laundry is handled accurately and returned within the expected timeframe
• Maintain adequate stock of clean linens for hotel operations
• Keep the laundry room clean, organised, and compliant with hygiene standards
• Report faulty equipment or maintenance issues promptly
• Follow hotel safety procedures and proper handling of cleaning chemicals

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Laundry Attendant or in a similar hotel laundry role is an advantage
• Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment and fabric care techniques
• Good understanding of garment handling, stain removal, and ironing procedures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift laundry loads when required
• Dependable, honest, and able to work with minimal supervision
