Job Description

A busy restaurant is looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to help keep the kitchen running efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, values cleanliness, and takes pride in supporting the kitchen team to deliver an excellent dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wash dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen, storage areas, and waste disposal points.
• Assist with basic food preparation as directed by chefs.
• Receive, unpack, and organize deliveries of food and kitchen supplies.
• Dispose of waste safely and follow recycling procedures where applicable.
• Refill cleaning supplies and ensure sanitation stations remain stocked.
• Support chefs and kitchen staff with general operational tasks.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards at all times.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a kitchen, restaurant, or hospitality environment is an advantage but not essential.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices is desirable.
