Responsibilities

• Monitor food preparation to maintain quality, consistency, and presentation standards.
• Manage food inventory, ordering, receiving, and stock rotation.
• Control food costs and minimise waste through effective inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
• Inspect kitchen equipment and coordinate maintenance when required.
• Train new kitchen employees and provide ongoing coaching to the team.
• Work closely with restaurant management to achieve operational goals and improve kitchen performance.
• Handle kitchen-related concerns promptly and implement practical solutions.

Qualifications

• Previous experience managing kitchen operations in a busy restaurant.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Experience with inventory control, purchasing, and cost management.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards.
• Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence in training, motivating, and developing kitchen staff.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
