Inventory Officer

Job Description

A busy café is looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Officer to oversee stock management and ensure the smooth flow of inventory across daily operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining accurate records, and supporting efficient café operations by ensuring supplies are always available without unnecessary waste.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor inventory levels for food, beverages, packaging, and operational supplies.
• Receive, inspect, and record incoming deliveries.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using manual logs or inventory software.
• Conduct routine stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Coordinate with suppliers and management to replenish stock promptly.
• Track product usage and identify slow-moving or excess inventory.
• Ensure proper storage and stock rotation in accordance with food safety standards.
• Prepare inventory reports and provide recommendations for stock optimization.
• Work closely with kitchen and café staff to minimize waste and stock shortages.
• Maintain organized storage areas and ensure inventory is properly labeled.

Qualifications

• Diploma, certificate, or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Accounting, or a related field.
• Previous experience in inventory control, stores management, warehouse operations, or a similar role, preferably in hospitality or food service.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software.
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
