Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished Head Chef to lead our kitchen team, shape our culinary direction, and maintain high standards across every service. This role is ideal for a creative and organised culinary professional who can combine strong leadership with excellent cooking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the kitchen team during daily operations and service.
• Develop and refine menus that reflect the restaurant’s culinary identity.
• Create recipes, establish portion standards, and maintain consistent food quality.
• Oversee food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation.
• Monitor ingredient quality, stock levels, and kitchen costs.
• Coordinate purchasing and work closely with suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Train, mentor, and motivate chefs and kitchen staff.
• Manage kitchen schedules, workflow, and staffing requirements.
• Control food waste and implement effective cost-management practices.
• Collaborate with restaurant management on specials, promotions, and seasonal menus.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Professional culinary qualification or recognised chef training.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in professional kitchens, including leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of international cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen operations.
• Demonstrated ability to design menus and develop recipes.
• Excellent understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-management skills.
• Good knowledge of inventory control, purchasing, and food-cost management.
• Creativity, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to quality.
• Ability to remain organised and composed in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
