Head Bartender

Job Description

A lively and stylish bar is seeking a confident and experienced Head Bartender to lead the drinks program, guide the bar team, and deliver an exceptional guest experience. This role is perfect for someone who knows their craft, enjoys leadership, and thrives in a fast-paced, social environment where every drink matters.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily bar operations and ensure smooth service during busy hours
• Create, develop, and refine cocktail menus in line with the bar’s concept
• Supervise, train, and support bartenders and bar backs
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, stock control, and bar presentation
• Manage inventory, reduce wastage, and coordinate supplier orders
• Engage with guests, recommend drinks, and handle special requests
• Ensure compliance with safety and alcohol service regulations
• Monitor performance and support team motivation during shifts

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Head Bartender or Senior Bartender in a busy bar or hospitality setting
• Strong knowledge of classic and modern cocktails, spirits, and mixology techniques
• Leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work under pressure during peak hours
• Strong organizational skills, especially in stock and inventory management
• Basic understanding of cost control and bar profitability
• Certification in bartending or hospitality training is an advantage
