Role Overview
This is a founder-led, high-impact leadership role focused on shaping how VAT and e-invoicing will actually work for the hospitality ecosystem in the UAE and GCC.

This is not a pure advisory or opinion-based role. You will work directly with the founder, product, and engineering teams to design real invoice flows, validate regulatory interpretations, influence product logic, and work hands-on with hotels, TMCs, and enterprises as UAE e-invoicing goes live.

• The role can evolve as:
• Full-time leadership role
• Contract / advisory role
• Pilot engagement that grows into long-term ownership

Key Responsibilities

VAT & E-Invoicing Design (Hospitality Focus)
• Design VAT-correct invoice structures for:
– Corporate hotel bookings
– TMC-mediated bookings
– MICE and group billing
– Commissions, credit notes, and post-stay adjustments
– Interpret UAE e-invoicing (DCTCE / Corner-5) rules specifically for hospitality use cases
– Identify grey areas, risks, and likely audit failure points

Product & Market Validation
• Translate VAT and regulatory rules into scalable system and product logic
• Validate whether e-invoice ? payment ? reconciliation flows are tax-sound
• Act as the tax authority inside the product team, reviewing assumptions and designs

On-Ground Market Engagement
• Work closely with hotel finance teams during pilots
• Advise on VAT reclaim, disputes, and documentation readiness
• Support discussions with ecosystem partners including ASPs, TMCs, and advisors

Requirements:

Required Candidate Profile

Experience
• 10–18 years of experience in indirect tax / VAT
• Background from Big4 (PwC, Deloitte, EY, KPMG) or
• Senior VAT / finance leadership experience in hospitality, travel, airlines, or TMCs
• Hands-on UAE VAT experience strongly preferred

Skills & Competencies (Must-Have)
• Deep understanding of UAE VAT law and its practical application
• Strong awareness of hospitality billing, commissions, and settlements
• Ability to convert regulation into repeatable, system-driven workflows
• Sound judgment on “theoretically correct” vs “operationally workable” solutions
• Comfortable operating in a founder-led, high-ambiguity environment

Salary:
AED 35,000 to 60,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
