A vibrant and detail-driven restaurant is looking for a skilled Garde Manger to take charge of the cold kitchen section. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in precision, presentation, and freshness. You’ll be responsible for preparing salads, cold appetizers, pâtés, terrines, and beautifully plated starters that set the tone for the dining experience. This is a hands-on role where creativity meets consistency, and where your eye for detail directly shapes how guests experience the first bite.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present all cold dishes including salads, starters, and cold appetizers
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety in the cold kitchen section
- Assist in menu planning for cold dishes and seasonal specials
- Ensure ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and well-organized
- Work closely with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service flow
- Portion and plate dishes with consistency and visual appeal
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or waste
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a cold kitchen or similar culinary role
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
- Good knife skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques
- Ability to work under pressure during busy service hours
- Creativity in food presentation and plating
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Attention to detail and consistency in output
