Event Manager

Job Description

Our hotel is seeking an organised, creative, and service-focused Event Manager to lead the planning and execution of conferences, weddings, corporate gatherings, celebrations, and other special events. The successful candidate will coordinate every stage of an event, working closely with clients, hotel departments, vendors, and service teams to ensure each occasion is professionally delivered and leaves a lasting impression.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage events from initial consultation through completion.
• Meet with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, budgets, and expectations.
• Develop event schedules, floor plans, timelines, and operational plans.
• Coordinate with catering, housekeeping, front office, security, and maintenance teams.
• Manage external vendors, suppliers, entertainers, decorators, and event partners.
• Monitor event budgets, expenses, contracts, and payment schedules.
• Conduct venue inspections and ensure event spaces are properly prepared.
• Supervise event staff and coordinate duties during events.
• Resolve unexpected issues quickly while maintaining high service standards.
• Collect client feedback and identify opportunities to improve future events.
• Prepare post-event reports and maintain accurate event records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
• 2 to 4 years of experience managing events, preferably within a hotel or events environment.
• Strong knowledge of event planning, budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational abilities with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.
• Confident leadership and team coordination skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event planning or scheduling software.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused in fast-paced situations.
