Director of Hotel Operations

Job Description

An established hotel is seeking an accomplished Director of Hotel Operations to oversee daily operations and ensure every department delivers outstanding service, operational efficiency, and exceptional guest experiences. This senior leadership position is responsible for driving performance, maintaining quality standards, leading department heads, and supporting the hotel’s long-term strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for all hotel operational departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, Maintenance, Security, and Guest Services.
• Develop and implement operational policies that improve efficiency, productivity, and service quality.
• Monitor departmental performance through key performance indicators and implement improvement initiatives where necessary.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate department managers to build high-performing teams.
• Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by maintaining consistently high service standards.
• Oversee budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation while achieving financial targets.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to support occupancy and revenue objectives.
• Resolve complex operational challenges and guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
• Identify opportunities to enhance operational processes through innovation and continuous improvement.
• Prepare operational reports and present performance updates to executive leadership.
• Foster a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related discipline.
• Extensive leadership experience managing multi-department hotel operations in a senior management role.
• Strong knowledge of hotel operations, revenue management, budgeting, and quality assurance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and inspire operational excellence.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
• Strong financial management and analytical capabilities.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience developing operational policies and implementing process improvements.
• Proficiency with hotel property management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional service standards.
