Confectionery Chef

Job Description

Our cafe is dedicated to serving beautifully prepared pastries, desserts, cakes, and sweet treats that bring quality and creativity to every customer experience. We are looking for a talented Confectionery Chef to join our kitchen team and take responsibility for producing an appealing range of confectionery products while maintaining excellent standards of taste, presentation, hygiene, and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cakes, pastries, cookies, tarts, chocolates, creams, fillings, and other confectionery products.
• Develop creative recipes and seasonal dessert selections that complement the cafe menu.
• Measure and combine ingredients accurately while following established recipes and production procedures.
• Decorate and present confectionery products to a consistently high standard.
• Monitor baking temperatures, cooking times, textures, and product quality.
• Maintain clean, organised, and hygienic workstations and equipment.
• Manage ingredient preparation, storage, stock rotation, and portion control.
• Minimise waste while maintaining efficient production levels.
• Collaborate with the cafe manager and kitchen team on new product ideas and special orders.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and workplace procedures.

Qualifications

• Culinary qualification, pastry arts certification, or equivalent professional training.
• Previous experience as a Confectionery Chef, Pastry Chef, Baker, or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of confectionery preparation, baking techniques, decoration, and finishing.
• Excellent attention to detail and presentation.
• Creativity and a strong understanding of flavour combinations.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Good knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.
• A passion for creating high-quality desserts and confectionery products.
