Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and present a variety of cakes, pastries, cookies, tarts, chocolates, and other confectionery items.
• Develop seasonal dessert offerings and contribute fresh ideas to the café menu.
• Decorate cakes and desserts to a consistently high standard.
• Measure, mix, bake, and finish products according to established recipes.
• Monitor ingredient freshness and maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Ensure all food preparation complies with hygiene, food safety, and sanitation standards.
• Operate and maintain baking and pastry equipment safely.
• Minimize waste while maintaining product quality and consistency.
• Work closely with the kitchen and café teams to meet daily production schedules.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation.

Qualifications

• Certificate, diploma, or professional training in Pastry Arts, Baking, Culinary Arts, or a related discipline.
• Previous experience as a Confectionery Chef, Pastry Chef, or Baker in a café, bakery, hotel, or restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dessert preparation, and confectionery production.
• Experience with cake decorating and dessert presentation is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• A creative mindset with a passion for innovation in desserts.
