Do you have a passion for food preparation and a desire to grow your culinary career in a professional kitchen? We are looking for a dedicated Commis Chef to join our restaurant team. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, cooking, and presenting menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
• Prepare ingredients, including washing, chopping, measuring, and portioning food.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times.
• Support senior chefs during food preparation and service periods.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the appropriate supervisor.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items.
• Help minimize food waste through careful preparation and portion control.
• Participate in receiving and storing deliveries according to food safety guidelines.
• Carry out additional kitchen duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Sous Chef.

Qualifications

• Certificate, diploma, or vocational training in Culinary Arts, Professional Cookery, or a related field is an advantage.
• Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, café, or commercial kitchen is preferred but motivated entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
• Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
