Commis Chef

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Commis Chef to join our kitchen brigade. You will work under the guidance of our Senior Chefs, assisting in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes while developing your culinary skills in a professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes across all sections
• Follow recipes and presentation standards consistently
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic workstation
• Support senior chefs during busy service periods
• Ensure proper storage and labelling of all food items
• Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations
• Contribute positively to a team-focused kitchen culture

Qualifications & Requirements

• Culinary diploma or certificate (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ Level 1/2, or equivalent)
• Basic knife skills and kitchen knowledge
• Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards (Food Handler’s Certificate is a plus)
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• A genuine passion for food and cooking
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Previous kitchen experience (internship or entry-level) is an advantage but not required
