Key Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with food preparation, cooking, and plating dishes according to restaurant standards.
• Prepare ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations and equipment.
• Follow recipes, portion sizes, and food presentation guidelines.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients to maintain freshness and food safety.
• Support stock rotation and report low inventory levels when necessary.
• Comply with food hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure timely service during busy periods.
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by senior chefs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen or culinary environment is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality.
• Strong willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team with a positive attitude.
