Job Description

Our restaurant is seeking a talented and experienced Chef de Cuisine to lead our kitchen team and oversee the preparation of exceptional dishes. The successful candidate will combine strong culinary expertise with effective leadership, ensuring every plate meets high standards of flavour, presentation, consistency, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily kitchen operations and coordinate food preparation across all sections.
• Develop and refine menus in line with the restaurant’s culinary direction.
• Supervise, train, and motivate chefs and kitchen staff.
• Maintain consistent standards for taste, presentation, portioning, and food quality.
• Monitor inventory, ingredient usage, ordering, and kitchen costs.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
• Manage kitchen schedules and allocate responsibilities efficiently.
• Work closely with restaurant management to improve service and guest satisfaction.
• Control food waste while maintaining high production standards.
• Introduce new dishes, techniques, and seasonal menu ideas where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Professional culinary qualification or equivalent practical training.
• At least 4 years of experience in a professional restaurant kitchen, with proven leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of international cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
• Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality control standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate a diverse kitchen team.
• Strong organisational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Creativity and attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for culinary excellence and commitment to maintaining consistently high standards.
