Job Description

Our cafe is looking for a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with customers, handling transactions accurately, and contributing to a welcoming dining experience. As a Cashier, you will be one of the first points of contact for guests, ensuring every visit begins and ends with exceptional service while supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the cafe.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers with a warm and professional attitude.
• Process cash, card, and digital payments accurately.
• Issue receipts and maintain accurate transaction records.
• Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Answer customer questions about menu items, promotions, and pricing.
• Coordinate with baristas and kitchen staff to ensure orders are processed efficiently.
• Handle customer concerns politely and escalate issues when necessary.
• Keep the checkout counter clean, organized, and well stocked.
• Assist with restocking merchandise and takeaway supplies.
• Follow all cash handling, security, and food safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role within a cafe, restaurant, or retail environment is an advantage.
• Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, professional, and customer-oriented approach.
• Ability to remain calm and accurate during busy periods.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Dependable, honest, and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced cafe environment.
