Cafe Manager

Job Description

Our cafe is looking for a capable and customer-focused Cafe Manager to lead daily operations and create an enjoyable experience for every guest. The successful candidate will combine strong leadership with practical knowledge of cafe service, staff coordination, inventory control, and financial performance. This role offers an opportunity to shape service standards, motivate a team, and contribute to the continued success of the cafe.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily cafe operations, ensuring efficient service and smooth workflow.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate cafe staff.
• Maintain high standards of customer service, food quality, cleanliness, and presentation.
• Manage staff schedules, attendance, and daily assignments.
• Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and minimise waste.
• Handle customer feedback and resolve service concerns professionally.
• Track sales, expenses, cash handling, and daily financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace standards.
• Develop initiatives that improve customer satisfaction and cafe performance.
• Coordinate with suppliers and service providers to maintain reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Food Service Management, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a cafe, restaurant, coffee shop, or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of food service operations, inventory management, and customer service.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Good understanding of budgeting, sales reporting, and cost control.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to operational detail.
• Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and standard office applications is an advantage.
• A food safety or service management certification is an added advantage.
