Job Description

A well-organised cafe is looking for a dependable Bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records and support smooth day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, discreet, and comfortable handling transactions, reconciliations, invoices, and routine financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Record daily sales, expenses, payments, and other financial transactions accurately.
• Maintain organised records of invoices, receipts, purchases, and supplier payments.
• Reconcile bank statements, cash records, and point-of-sale transactions.
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare regular financial summaries and reports for management review.
• Assist with payroll records and routine financial administration.
• Track cafe expenses and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions.
• Ensure financial records are maintained accurately and confidentially.
• Support budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, and basic financial planning.
• Communicate with suppliers and management regarding invoices and payment records.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial administration.
• Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping principles and financial record-keeping.
• Good numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
• Ability to reconcile financial records and identify discrepancies.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling financial information.
• Relevant training, certification, diploma, or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience working in a cafe, restaurant, retail business, or similar environment is an advantage.
