Job Description

Do you enjoy crafting fresh baked goods that make every visit memorable? We are looking for a skilled and dependable Baker to join our cafe team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in producing high quality breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked treats while maintaining excellent consistency, presentation, and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake breads, pastries, muffins, cookies, cakes, and other baked goods
• Measure and mix ingredients accurately following established recipes
• Decorate and finish baked products to a high presentation standard
• Monitor baking times, temperatures, and product quality throughout production
• Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, icings, and other baking components
• Ensure ingredients are stored correctly and stock levels are maintained
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic baking area
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
• Assist with inventory checks and report ingredient shortages
• Work closely with the cafe team to ensure fresh products are available throughout the day

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Baker or in a similar baking role within a cafe, bakery, restaurant, or related food service environment
• Good knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food preparation methods
• Ability to prepare a wide range of baked goods with consistency and attention to detail
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Creative mindset with an eye for presentation and product quality
• Reliable, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
