Do you enjoy crafting fresh, delicious baked goods that keep customers coming back? We are looking for a skilled and dependable Baker to join our cafe team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in producing high quality breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked treats while maintaining excellent food preparation and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, bake, and decorate a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, muffins, cookies, and other baked goods.
• Measure and mix ingredients accurately according to recipes.
• Ensure products are baked consistently to high quality standards.
• Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, and icings.
• Monitor baking times and temperatures to achieve the best results.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work area.
• Store ingredients and finished products correctly to preserve freshness.
• Assist with stock rotation and report ingredient shortages.
• Support the development of seasonal or specialty baked items.
• Work closely with the cafe team to ensure products are available throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Baker in a cafe, bakery, or similar food service environment.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency.
• Familiarity with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
• Good time management with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Ability to lift baking ingredients and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays when required.
• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a collaborative team.
