Assistant Hotel Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a capable and organised Assistant Hotel Manager to support the smooth daily operation of the hotel. The successful candidate will work closely with management and department heads to maintain service standards, coordinate teams, resolve operational issues, and ensure guests receive a consistently positive experience. This position is well suited to a confident professional who combines leadership, attention to detail, and strong decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Hotel Manager in overseeing daily hotel operations.
• Coordinate activities across front office, housekeeping, food service, and other departments.
• Monitor staff performance and promote high standards of service.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and ensure timely resolutions.
• Assist with staff scheduling, training, supervision, and performance management.
• Monitor operational procedures, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Review occupancy, revenue, and operational reports to support informed decisions.
• Assist with stock control, purchasing, and cost management.
• Step in for the Hotel Manager when required and maintain operational continuity.
• Contribute to initiatives that improve guest satisfaction and overall hotel performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in hotel operations or a comparable supervisory management role.
• Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Good knowledge of hotel procedures, front office operations, and service standards.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel management systems.
