Assistant Barista

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Barista to join our growing coffee shop team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about coffee, enjoys interacting with people, and is eager to develop their skills in specialty beverage preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and serving a variety of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages.
• Support the lead barista in maintaining beverage quality and presentation standards.
• Welcome customers warmly, take orders accurately, and process payments.
• Keep the coffee bar, equipment, and customer areas clean, organized, and well-stocked.
• Replenish ingredients, cups, and other café supplies throughout the day.
• Assist with food preparation and serving, where required.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve minor concerns professionally.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including cash reconciliation and cleaning.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a coffee shop, café, restaurant, or customer service role is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of espresso machines and coffee preparation is desirable; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, positive, and customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting.
