Order Taker

Job Description

We are looking for a friendly, attentive, and organized Order Taker to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, ensuring every order is taken accurately and delivered with excellent service while supporting the smooth operation of the cafe.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers warmly and assist them with menu selections.
• Take customer orders accurately for dine in, takeaway, and delivery services.
• Enter orders into the point of sale system with attention to detail.
• Answer customer enquiries regarding menu items, ingredients, and daily specials.
• Coordinate with the kitchen and service team to ensure timely order preparation.
• Process cash, card, and digital payments accurately.
• Verify completed orders before handing them to customers or delivery personnel.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and organized ordering and counter area.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and company service standards at all times.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a customer service, cashier, or order-taking role in a cafe, restaurant, or food service environment is preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple orders efficiently.
• Basic computer skills and confidence using point of sale systems.
• Good numerical skills for handling payments and balancing transactions.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods.
