Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Baker who takes pride in preparing fresh breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked treats that delight customers every day. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced café environment and have a keen eye for detail, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, muffins, and other baked goods.
• Follow established recipes while maintaining consistent quality and presentation.
• Measure, mix, proof, shape, and bake products according to production schedules.
• Decorate cakes and pastries as required.
• Monitor baking times and temperatures to achieve excellent results.
• Ensure ingredients are stored correctly and stock levels are maintained.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bakery and food preparation areas.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Minimise ingredient waste through efficient production practices.
• Assist with developing seasonal or specialty baked products.
• Work closely with the café team to ensure fresh products are available throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Baker in a café, bakery, restaurant, or similar food service environment.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
• Ability to prepare a wide range of baked goods with consistency and attention to detail.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Creative approach to baking and product presentation.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift baking supplies when required.
• Dependable, team-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality products.
