Job Description

A thriving coffee shop is looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Accountant to oversee financial operations and help maintain the business’s financial health. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accurate financial records, supporting business decisions, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping activities.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
• Monitor cash flow, expenses, and revenue to ensure financial stability.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Process invoices, payments, payroll, and supplier accounts.
• Prepare tax documentation and ensure timely statutory filings.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Monitor inventory costs and analyse stock-related financial data.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
• Support audits by preparing required financial documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reduce costs.
• Work closely with management to provide financial insights that support business growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting certification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is an advantage.
• Previous accounting experience, preferably in a coffee shop, café, restaurant, retail, or food service environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
